Alvin Noon Lions Club and Gorilla Disc Golf present the Inaugural "Alvin Charity Open- Driven by Innova"- a PDGA sanctioned B-tier event benefitting Project Sight Conservation and other Alvin Noon Lions Club charities AND "Light the Night!!"- a Friday charity event.
This event will also debut the availability of the collectors "Light the Night" discs. These were minted in Fall-2019, as the course opening was delayed. ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT ALVIN NOON LIONS CLUB CHARITIES and commemorate the opening of the course. Disc are $20
Friday- "LIGHT THE NIGHT" doubles / expose'/ clinic We will kickoff the festivities with a disc golf expose' and demo. Gorilla Disc Golf will have top area pros out to conduct "intro to disc golf" clinics and show off their skills under the lights of Alvins newly constructed lit Briscoe park DGC. We will have food trucks, fun and games for the kids and a general festival atmosphere at the park as we welcome residents, supporters and new players from the area.
"Light the Night Doubles" will be a charity event, specifically benfetting the Lions Club. We will set up a "new player friendly" 9 hole layout of Briscoe DGC. We will assign a skilled disc golfer to play through the course with each group to share knowledge, insight, tips and fun with the dubs players.
SATURDAY- Gorilla Disc Golf has teamed up with Alvin Noon Lions Club to bring you the Inaugural Alvin Charity Open !!! The Lions Club will have their supporting organizations out in full force to welcome players to the city. They will be providing a FREE lunch for all players from one of the top restaurants in the Alvin area, Gordon Street Tavern !!!!!!
SCHEDULE- PLAYERS MUST CHECK IN BETWEEN 7:30-8:30am Players meeting 9-9:15am 1st round Shotgun start- approx 9:30am Lunch-All players receive 1 hour from when last card is turned in (from both pools) before start of 2nd round Games to follow the 2nd round, Awards/games/payout soon after.
ALL players will play 21 holes each round, the regular 18 hole course with 3 temps, same layout both rounds. A pool (All PRO, MA1, MA40, MA2) will play as 5 player cards and play LONG hole 4 B pool (All other divs) will play as 4 player cards and play short hole 4
