"investors") to direct the affairs of the Chamber,
including making policy. The Board of Directors is
responsible for leading Chamber initiatives throughout the year
and establishing an annual Plan of Work at the yearly planning

Divisional Teams
|
There
are many opportunities for involvement in the Chamber, and new
ideas and fresh energy are always welcome. The heart of the
Chamber is its members, or “investors,” who work in small
groups, committees, or task forces to achieve the Chamber’s
objectives, called its “Program of Work.”
Of five major Divisions, each is charged with the responsibility of carrying out a well-balanced program in its specialized area of interest. These Divisions are Business, Community Issues, Economic Development, Membership and Special Events. Each division is led by a Division Team Leader - usually someone who is currently serving on the Chamber Board of Directors. The 2009 Division Team Leaders are as follows:
- Business Division - Roy Waldrep, Chocolate Bayou Community Federal Credit Union
- Community Issues Division – Michael Culling, Culling Law Office
- Economic Development Division – Richard “Jay” Hawkins, Hawkins Lease Services
- Membership Division - Lorilyn Wynn, Texas Advantage Community Bank
- Special Events Division - Gabe Adame, Wells Fargo Bank

Chamber
Staff
|
The
Chamber staff, including the President, is responsible for the
day-to-day management and operations of the Chamber. The
staff members are often the first contact a visitor or investor
has with the Chamber and, sometimes, serve as the first
point-of-contact for individuals interested in the community
itself.
